Kids to Parks Day

Saturday, May 18, 2019, 9am-11am (hike), 2pm-3pm (ice cream).

Meeting Place: Visitor Center Porch

Come visit Davidsonville and help us celebrate as we join local and national parks across America for the annual “Kids to Parks Day”. We’ll explore the park with a hike designed for the kids that morning, and whip up some historic ice cream to enjoy that afternoon.

Folk Music and Follies

Friday, May 24, 2019- 7:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Meeting Place: Campground Fire Ring

Come gather ’round the fire and make yourself at home while you enjoy this evening program. We’ll bring the past to life, make music, and whittle away an evening with laughter and fellowship in the historical tradition. Meet Park Interpreter Geoffrey at the campground fire ring for a program about Davidsonville, the good old days, and the music that is as familiar today as it was 200 years ago

Native Tools and Weapons 

Saturday, May 25th, 2019- 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. 

Meeting Place: Visitor Center Back Porch                 

Ever thrown a tomahawk? Shot a bow? And where did that meat on the dinner table come from? Roll up your sleeves and stop by Davidsonville to toss tomahawks, throw spears, and learn how to use an atlatl in this fun program for all ages. 

Venomous, Poisonous, and Toxic, Oh My! Dangerous Creatures of Arkansas 

Saturday, May 25th, 2019- 7:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Meeting Place: Campground Fire Ring

They’ve got fangs, fuzzy feelers, slimy skin, and they give us the creeps! Come learn about the dangerous creatures that call Arkansas home and why they should be respected but not feared. We’ll talk snakes, spiders, ticks, scorpions, and more as we uncover the differences between poisonous and venomous, untangle the truth about snakes, and even dive into the waters and talk about freshwater jellyfish. Bring a chair and get ready to talk about everything creepy, crawly, and cool.
