“It Runs In the Family” Opens at Downtown Playhouse

The British farce “It Runs In the Family” has opened at the Downtown Playhouse in Pocahontas.  The comedy, which is the theater’s first show of the 2019 season, runs through March 24.

“It Runs In the Family” is written by Ray Cooney and is set at St. Andrew’s Hospital in London. Dr. David Mortimore is preparing to make a very important speech, but he is sidetracked by news of a long lost child.  Along the way he encounters an array of patients and fellow doctors who bring upheaval and humor to the stage.

“It Runs In the Family” is sponsored by Overman Buildings and Above & Beyond Home Care.  The production is directed by Kelly Grooms. 

Remaining performance dates are March 1, 2, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 22, 23 and 24.

Tickets are $19.60, including tax, and the cost of admission also covers beverage and dessert.  There is a wide array of hot and cold beverages, and desserts include Strawberry Cream Pie, Cookies & Cream Pie, 

Lemon Bundt Cake and Sugar-Free Chocolate Parfait.
