Three Fire Departments Respond to Midday House Fire

At 11:22 a.m. on Tuesday, Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a house and vehicle on fire at 193 Lawrence 224. Imboden responded with two trucks and requested additional tankers from both Black Rock and Ravenden Fire Departments. A second 911 call reported both the house and vehicle to be fully engulfed. Imboden units were on the scene at 11:44 a.m. Pro Med ambulance placed a unit on scene for standby.

Craighead Electric along with Lawrence County Rural Water were requested to the scene to disconnect utilities. Imboden Fire Chief Jim Jones requested that the Arkansas Forestry be placed on standby. Windy conditions at one point caused the fire to jump the road into the woods but Imboden firefighters were able to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined at this time and no injuries were reported. Fire crews are still on scene extinguishing hot spots as of 12:05 pm.
