At 8:13 am the Black Rock Fire Department, Black Rock Police Department, and Pro Med ambulance were called to Highway 361 just north of the Black Rock city limits. Black Rock Police Chief Mark Vanbrook discovered a small suv had left the roadway, went down a ditch bank, and came to rest in about two feet of water.

Officer Vanbrook along with Black Rock first responders found a female victim in the vehicle and upon the arrival of the ambulance began removing the patient from the wreckage.

A medical helicopter was requested from Survival Flight and landed on a nearby property. The victim was transported by Pro med to the landing zone and flown to White River Medical Center in Batesville. The identity and information about the patient hasn’t been released at this time.

The accident is being investigated by the Black Rock Police Department. Cook’s Wrecker Service of Walnut Ridge was called to remove the vehicle. Traffic was down to one lane on Highway 361 for approximately one hour.
