Around 8 am on Saturday Walnut Ridge Fire Department and AET Ambulance were dispatched to Lawrence 615 after a 911 call reported a young man trapped in the bottom of a fertilizer hopper.  22 year old, Cody Crow was pronounced dead at the scene according to Sergeant  Jamie White of the Lawrence County Criminal Investigation Division.
The victim had entered the hopper and while in the hopper slipped and fell. This caused the fertilizer to cover him, trapping him underneath. The victim’s body was recovered by fire fighters and was sent to Little Rock for an autopsy.
The investigation is being covered by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
