At 3:42pm reports of a one vehicle accident with injuries came in to the Lawrence County Dispatch Center.  Saffell and Strawberry Fire Departments along with an ambulance from Pro Med were dispatched to Hwy. 25 near County Road 333.  Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies and Arkansas State police were notified and dispatched to the scene.

Initial reports stated a vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. A medical helicopter from Survival Flight was requested by medics to land in a nearby church parking lot.  At 3:47pm responders from Saffell and Strawberry checked on scene. At 4:02pm the ambulance from Pro Med arrived on scene and the Survival Flight helicopter landed nearby.  Medics then requested that a second helicopter respond to the scene. At 4:24pm one helicopter left the scene with a patient and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.  At 4:28pm the second medical helicopter was reported to have landed.   The second patient was flown to a nearby hospital from treatment.

Highway 25 was closed at 3:58 pm for a short time. The cause of the accident has yet to be released and is pending investigation by the Arkansas State Police.
