At 1:43 pm the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a one vehicle accident on Hwy 63 just north of the Rest Area. Deputies from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Black Rock Fire Department, Black Rock Police and AET Ambulance all responded to the scene.

The vehicle, a truck pulling a stock trailer had left the roadway and struck an embankment causing considerable damage to the vehicle and trailer.

The driver stated he was from Missouri traveling to Alabama with a load of chickens and turkeys when he vehicle had a blow out causing him to leave the roadway and strike the embankment.

Arkansas State Police conducted the investigation, traffic was slowed for time ask wreckers from Dail’s Wrecker Service of Ravenden brought several trucks to remove the vehicles. The driver was not injured in the accident.

None of the animals appeared to be injured in the incident.
