At 4:14 am Lawrence County Dispatch was notified by Craighead County of a pursuit coming into the county on Hwy. 91.  According to a Craighead County deputy a constable was attempting to stop a vehicle registered to a Hoxie resident.

Walnut Ridge, Hoxie, and Lawrence County units were notified of the chase which was reaching speeds of 85 miles per hour. Craighead county requested the units use spike strips, Hoxie and Walnut Ridge set up to keep the vehicle from entered get populated areas. At 4:22 am units spotted the chase coming into Walnut Ridge. The suspects driving was described as very reckless and dangerous. Just moments after that the vehicle was said to be swerving and lost control on Hwy. 91 at Lawrence 620.

Walnut Ridge Fire and Medic One ambulance  were dispatched to the scene. At 4:32 am the suspect was in custody. The suspects name has not been released at this time but the suspect was transported back to Craighead county by the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office.

No other injuries were reported. Hwy. 91 was closed to a short period as officers conducted their investigation and was reopened shortly after 5:00am.
