At 7:08 pm on Monday Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a structure fire at 621 St. Joseph Street in Black Rock.
Black Rock Fire Department responded with two engines and several fire fighters, Black Rock Police Department arrived on scene and relayed information back to fire fighters in route stating the house was totally engulfed. Â AET ambulance was requested after reports emerged stating that one of the occupants of the house had minor burns. Â The person was treated on scene. Â Fire fighters battled the blaze for hours. The Portia Fire Department was requested for additional water and manpower. Â Portia responded with a tanker truck and several fire fighters. Â The house was a total loss. No additional injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown.
