On March 14, 2017 Hoxie School officials received information from a student regarding threats made against the school. School officials immediately contacted the Hoxie Police Department and the student alleged to have made the threats was removed from the campus.
Officers then secured and searched the campus and determined no threats were present before allowing students to resume normal activities.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing and the exact nature of the threats are not being released at this time. Swift action on the part of school administrators insured students were in no danger during this incident.
The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department is currently assisting in the investigation into this matter.
