At 10:11 am on Monday the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call from a motorist reporting a White Ford Explorer on Lawrence 274 that had nearly struck the caller head-on before leaving the roadway and flipping several times. The accident occurred at the intersection of Hwy 117 and Lawrence 274. Witnesses stated the vehicle was traveling on Hwy 117 when the wreck occurred then went across Lawrence 274 before coming to rest in a field.

The caller stated the driver was ejected from the vehicle as it was flipping. AET Ambulance was requested along with the Smithville Fire Department, Strawberry Fire Department and Lynn Fire Department. At 10:20 am medics requested a medical helicopter from Survival Flight to land a helicopter on scene.

Witnesses stated the victim was bleeding but conscious, once medics arrived on scene the medical helicopter was cancelled. Lawrence County Deputies arrived on scene at 10:23 am.

Arkansas State Police assisted Lawrence County with the accident investigation. The victim was transported to a local hospital via ambulance to White River Medical Center in Batesville.
