Heavy rains in the early morning hours of Friday morning along with the already saturated ground began another round of flooding in Lawrence County.

Shortly after 5 am notices from the Lawrence County Dispatch went out as Hoxie and Walnut Ridge experienced flooding. According to reports flooding on Main Street in Walnut Ridge caused a portion of that road to be closed by the Walnut Ridge Fire Department, Hoxie Fire Department was also on scene closing Midway Road and dealing with other flooding in the area.

Other reports of flooding were reported around businesses on Hwy 67-B around the Hoxie/Walnut Ridge line.

No injuries were reported in these incidents although several accidents were worked by police later in the morning, no word if weather was a factor in any of these.
