Stolen Trailer Recovered In Pond By Sheriff’s Office On Saturday

Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Yates accompanied his Dive Team to a farm on Hwy 63 near Black Rock after the owner reported a cargo trailer partially submerged in a pond on the property.

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dive Team located the trailer which os believed to be one stolen from a construction site earlier in the week. Dail’s Wrecker Service of Ravenden was called by Sheriff Yates to the scene, divers from the LCSO Dive Team secured cables to the heavily damaged trailer and it was recovered by the wrecker.

The trailer was said to be storing tools for the construction site, divers were able to recover several items from the water. The trailer was heavily damaged by the thieves and was towed to a secure location in Ravenden where it will be processed by the Criminal Investigation Division next week.
