On Monday the Lawrence County Dispatch received a request for assistance after a cat had been up a tree since Friday. Owners of the family pet had tried to coax the cat out of the tree with food.

Lawrence County Dispatch requested help from the Lynn Fire Department and Lawrence County Deputies. Ladders were brought to the address on Lawrence 264 but rescuers soon learned the cat was about 50 feet up the tree.

After several failed attempts the rescuers used the Lynn Fire Department’s Fire Truck to spray water at the cat causing it to finally come down out of the tree. Although the cat was a little wet, it was otherwise unharmed.

Thanks to the efforts of Shane Brower of the Lynn Fire Department and Deputy Dustin Walker of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
