Lynn And Strawberry Fire Departments Respond To A House Fire On Saturday
At 12:31 pm on Saturday the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call of a structure fire on Hwy 25 near Lawrence 305. The caller said flames could be seen from the road.
Lynn Fire Department was paged and units were on scene within minutes. The residence described as the old Erwin house was said to be abandoned but according to fire fighters the structure was already a complete loss but fire was moving into the woods.
Lynn requested the assistance of the Strawberry Fire Department, Lawrence County Dispatch paged Strawberry and within minutes Strawberry was in route to the fire. Firefighters on scene stated that other out building were in danger with the wind and dry conditions
Lynn Fire Trucks were on scene at 12:44 pm, the residence was a total loss and fire fighters raced to save a mobile home that was behind the property. Strawberry Fire was on scene at 12:51 pm. Units reported the fire was under control shortly after 1 pm. No injuries were reported, the cause of the fire is not known at this time.
