According to a statement released by Mayor Charles Snapp of Walnut Ridge, at the December City Council Meeting he will be asking the council to confirm Lloyd Clark to a five year term. The statement released reads as follows:

During the December city council meeting I’ll ask that Lloyd Clark be re-confirmed to a full term in the airport commission.
According to information provided to me, Lloyd was first appointed in 2014, to finish the term vacated by Billie Gail Dunlap. As a retired military veteran Lloyd provided insight and support that helped the airport commission keep their military fuel contract. He also reached out to Ft. Cambell and a couple of other bases, encouraging them to support our airport and use our base for fuel stops.
Since our base is one of the primary bases in the FEMA disaster plan for earthquake preparedness, Lloyd took it upon himself to complete FEMA training. Lloyd attended both the 2014 and 2015 AAOA meetings and during his time on the commission Lloyd has yet to miss a meeting.
As a city, our airport commission continues to be self sufficient, requiring no funds be transferred out of the city general fund. The commissioners, Chairman Don Cavenaugh and airport manager Michelle Anthony, are working hard to bring the airport in to compliance. The transitions that have taken place this year are significant and Lloyd Clark has been an active part of those changes.
On behalf of the citizens of Walnut Ridge, during the December city council meeting I will ask the city council to confirm Lloyd for a full five year term on the Walnut Ridge airport commission, to begin January 1, 2016
Charles E. Snapp, Mayor
