At 2:02 pm on Thursday the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a one vehicle accident on Hwy 25 in the s-curve near Lake Charles State Park. Black Rock Police, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies and Black Rock Fire Department were all paged to respond. AET Ambulance was also requested and responded with 2 ambulances. Once on scene a medical helicopter was requested but later refused by the patient. Reports stated that the injured was trapped in the vehicle, Lynn Fire was requested to assist with rescue tools and responded to the scene. Arkansas State Park Rangers responded to the scene and assisted with traffic while responders attended to the patient.

Initial reports from the scene indicated air bag deployment and a head injury to the victim. Arkansas State Police was notified and responded to the scene as well. At 2:27 pm Lynn Rescue 1 and Lynn Rescue 2 arrived on scene to begin extrication of the victim from the wreckage. At 2:31 pm the Arkansas State Police arrived on scene.

Initial reports from the scene indicated the female injured in the accident may have been under the influence, she was removed from the vehicle and transported by AET Ambulance to St. Bernard’s Hospital at 2:45 pm. The accident is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police assisted by the Black Rock Police and Lawrence County. Lynn Fire was clear of the scene at 2:47 pm.

No official word on any charges at this time, responders were on scene for quite sometime as the accident investigation was concluded. The extent of the patient injuries was not known.
