On Tuesday night at the Arkansas State Park Superintendent Conference awards for state parks were handed out to their respective staff. Powhatan Historic State Park was honored with several awards.
Park Superintendent Kristyn Watts accepted the awards for Arkansas State Parks Interpretive Program of the Year, Region 2 Park of the Year and Overall Arkansas State Park of the year. According to sources, the Trial By Jury Program along with the historic preservation work were major factors in winning the awards. Arkansas State Park Superintendent Kristyn Watts said the credit for the awards were largely due to the wonderful staff at the park and their commitment to the Powhatan Historic State Park.
