At 7:10 pm on Friday the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call from 3 stranded floaters on the Spring River between Ravenden and Imboden with one of the stranded floaters having medical problems and passing out.

Dispatchers notified the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dive Team and both Ravenden and Imboden Fire Departments as they attempted to get an accurate location of the victims. Chief Jim Jones coordinated the rescue efforts, two boats were launched from the Spring River Access at Imboden while firefighters began working their way back toward the river through farm fields and private driveways. Chief Jones stopped all trains on the tracks so that responders could search the area safely. Approximately 30 minutes after the boats launched from Imboden, contacts was made with the victims. Two of the three stranded floaters included the ill victim were loaded onto boats and brought back to the Imboden Access where an ambulance from AET Ambulance was staged. The third stranded floater was taken by firefighters by land.
