At 3:40 pm on Monday the Lawrence County Dispatch was notified of a pursuit in Sharp County with a suspect from the Strawberry area headed into Lawrence County. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies, Arkansas State Police, Black Rock Police, Hoxie Police and Ravenden Police were all notified as the pursuit entered the county in the Smithville area.
 
The suspect was described as armed with a rifle to officers, it entered the county in Smithville on Hwy 117. The pursuit was headed 117 from Smithville towards Black Rock. Officers converged on the areas between the Hwy 63 and 117 intersection and the Hwy 63 and 25 intersection with plans to intercept the pursuit. Ravenden Chief Tim McComas along with troopers from the Arkansas State Police were armed with spike strips to disable the vehicle.
 
Moments after the pursuit passed the 117/117 spur in the Powhatan area, the suspect vehicle wrecked out at the intersection of Hwy 63 and Hwy 117 in the parking lot of the old 3-Way Inn. Officers on scene notified dispatch that the suspect was in custody and no injuries were reported. The suspect was identified as Jason Goad of Lawrence 333 Strawberry Arkansas, no word from Sharp County on the original charges or the reason for fleeing, Goad was taken to the Sharp County without further incident.
