At 10 pm on Saturday the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a shooting at a residence on Lawrence 511. Clover Bend Fire Department, Medic One Ambulance and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the scene of a self-inflicted gunshot. Lawrence County Deputies arrived and secured the scene, a medical helicopter was requested for a male subject with a gunshot wound to the head.
Medic One Ambulance transported the male victim to a landing zone where he was transferred to a medical helicopter and flown to an area hospital for treatment, Lawrence County Criminal Investigation Division was called to the scene and currently investigating the incident. No other injuries were reported, the victims name was not released as the investigation in on going.
