Lawrence County Dispatch received a call today reporting a vehicle submerged in water off Lawrence 546 near Strangers Home. Deputies responded to the area and found the vehicle matched the description of a stolen vehicle from Jackson County.
Last week a BOLO or Be On The Look Out was issued by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office on a 1999 Red Ford Truck along with two suspects from their county. The first suspect was a Carmen Billingsley who had outstanding warrants out of Jackson County and the second was said to be an Erica Hastings. According to reports, the two females had been taken into custody but authorities were still looking for the vehicle.
Members of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dive Team were called to the scene to attempt to get the license plate off the submerged vehicle for identification of the vehicle. Divers were able to get the tag number that confirmed it was the stolen vehicle from Jackson County. Ray J’s Wrecker Service was sent to the scene by Jackson County to remove the truck. The investigation is being handled by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
