At 10:37 pm on Tuesday night the Lawrence County Dispatch received several 911 calls reporting an overturned vehicle on Hwy 117 in Denton. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies, Black Rock Fire Department and AET Ambulance of Imboden were all dispatched to the scene.

Callers stated that there was no one in or around the vehicle. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene first followed shortly by AET Ambulance. Deputies searched the area but the driver was not found. Dail’s Wrecker Service of Ravenden was called to the scene to remove the vehicle.

While deputies were still searching for the driver of the vehicle, the Lawrence County Dispatch received a call from a family member stating the driver had left the area and returned home to retrieve medicine for a medical condition. Deputies went to the residence in Strawberry to check on the driver and complete the accident investigation.
