On Tuesday, Lawrence County Deputies and Hoxie Officers teamed up in an attempt to arrest a suspect with warrants. Hoxie PD received information about a Floyd Austin with warrants out of Greene County and was believed to be at a residence on SE Third.

As officer approached the residence, the encountered Deborah Grady who then invited the officers inside out of the rain. Once inside the officers could see in plain sight drug paraphernalia and marijuana. Officers asked if anyone else was inside the residence, Grady and another female in the residence identified as Britney Gibson responded “no”. Officers then ask for permission to search the residence, the females agreed. Inside a bedroom behind furniture, Floyd Austin was found hiding. Officers detained Austin and completed the search of the room. The search turned up more drug paraphernalia, meth, xanax and morphine in a pill bottle inside the purse of Gibson.

Grady stated she had a prescription for the meds but indicted she had not filled it, she filled out a statement for deputies stating the meds must have been stolen from her. Both Gipson and Austin were transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing.
