On October 20th, a deputy with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office while on patrol noticed a subject later identified as Anthony Taylor outside a tobacco store in Hoxie. The deputy was aware that the suspect had outstanding warrants out of Walnut Ridge. Taylor then got in the passenger side of a vehicle and began to leave the parking lot. The deputy then made a traffic stop on the vehicle, as he approached he noticed the suspect moving around inside the vehicle. As the deputy looked in the vehicle he saw the suspect pouring pills into his hand and then placing them in his mouth. The suspect then locked the door as the deputy attempted to open it, the driver of the car then unlocked the passenger door with the unlock button.

The suspect was then ordered to spit out the pills but refused and began to chew them and swallow the pills. The suspect was arrested and upon search was found to have several pill bottles claiming the pills he swallowed were Adderall. The suspect then became disorderly and was taken to the Lawrence County Jail where Detectives typed a search warrant for the contents of the suspects stomach. Once obtained Taylor was taken to Lawrence Memorial where he again became disorderly, at this time officers from the Walnut Ridge Police Department were called to the hospital to assist the deputy. Taylor was eventually restrained and the procedure was completed.

Anthony Taylor was charged with possession of a controlled substance (Schedule 2), disorderly conduct and obstructing governmental operations. Taylor is in the Lawrence County Jail awaiting a bond hearing and court date.
