The Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call at 5:30 pm on Tuesday reporting a male subject at the Portia City Park injured after a cargo trailer had fallen on him. Portia Fire Department and AET Ambulance were dispatched to the scene.

Initial reports indicated that the victim was trapped, Walnut Ridge Fire Department was notified for assistance but as firefighters arrived they found the victim was not trapped but suffered a broken leg.

A medical helicopter was requested by medics, Portia Fire Department set up a landing zone and assisted medics with getting the patient ready for flight. Once packaged, the patient was moved to the landing zone by AET before being flown to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.
