Love, prayers, and support for Sloan-Hendrix student, Brantley Gholson who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, reached throughout the community this week.  If you’ve been on Facebook then you may have noticed the many cold water challenge videos with donations going to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in honor of Brantley in your news feed (maybe you were challenged yourself), or the photo’s of local teenagers either shaving their heads, or dyeing their hair purple to show Brantley he isn’t alone in his fight.

Brantley just finished his first round of chemotherapy treatment at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. When he began losing some of his hair this week, he decided to go ahead and shave his head. That’s when his friends and classmates stepped up to support him.

Brantley’s mother, Tracy Gholson had this to say on behalf of the family about the outpouring of support…”We are so thankful to be part of this community. Words can never express how encouraged we are by the love and support we’ve received. The kids at Sloan Hendrix are to be commended for standing up and walking through this difficult time with Brantley. They are one of the reasons he continues to wear a smile.”

If you would like to donate to a fund for Brantley Gholson , there is now an account opened at Citizens Banks in Imboden. All donations will go to the family for traveling and medical expenses.

You can also make a donation to Arkansas Children’s Hospital http://www.archildrens.org in honor of Brantley.

Sloan-Hendrix School will be selling TEAM BRANTLEY shirts and bracelets for Brantley Gholson and his family. The shirts will be sold for $15.00 and the bracelets will be $1.00. All money raised will be given to the Gholson family to help with medical expenses.
Attached at the bottom of this page is an order form for T-shirts that may be turned in to the school offices or to Kelly McCormic.

Thank you to Rusty Hale for the above photo’s.
