Officers from the Ravenden Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Christopher Woodson of Imboden at 12:51 pm on Friday. As officers attempted the stop, the red truck driven by the suspect accelerated according to the officer and fled. A unit from the Arkansas State Police was on Hwy 63 at the Lawrence/Sharp County line and tried to intercept the pursuit but was unable.

At 12:54 officers notified dispatch that the pursuit was over 100 mph and entering Sharp County, Sharp County had been notified by the Lawrence County Dispatch and were attempting to lay spike strips in the path of the suspect.

At 12:58 the pursuit turned on Hwy 58 and headed to the Williford area, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the north side of the county to intercept the chase in the event it came back towards Lawrence County.

At 1:17 Sharp County officers deployed spike strips at the vehicle on Hwy 354 in an attempt to stop the chase, the suspect took the ditch to avoid the strips. At 1:20 pm officers advised the pursuit was headed towards the fairgrounds in Ash Flat, several attempts were made to use the “Pit”maneuver to stop the vehicle before it reached populated areas. Sharp County Sheriff Mark Counts gave units the authorization to shoot out the vehicle tires if necessary.

At 1:23 pm units advised the suspect vehicle had slowed to 25 mph and appeared to have at least one flat tire. At 1:25 pm the vehicle was again spiked in the Ash Flat City Limits. At 1:28 pm officers advised dispatchers that the subject was in custody, there were no injuries reported in the chase.

Christopher Woodson of 852 Haney Road, Imboden was booked into the Sharp County Jail, he is currently awaiting formal charges.
