Shortly after 6 am on New Years Day the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting an overturned semi truck at the intersection of Hwy 117 and Hwy 63 in Black Rock. The Black Rock Volunteer Fire Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, AET Ambulance of Imboden and Lawrence County Office of Emergency Services were all notified and responded to the scene.

The driver of the overturned truck was not injured, the truck was carrying 80,000 pounds of Lime. No leakage was reported from the trailer and the Black Rock Fire Department contained a minor diesel fuel leak from the truck. Dail’s Wrecker Service was contacted and responded with several wreckers to upright the vehicle. Fire fighters were on scene until 10:30 am, the truck was removed and roadway was reopened.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Arkansas State Police.
