Two Arrested for Theft of Property on Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Harry Pickney, age 47, of Black Rock and Billie Elaine Brady, age 35, of Imboden for breaking and entering and for theft of property.

The arrest came when a concerned citizen called in at approximately 10:26 pm about two suspicious persons at a local business around vehicles in the rear parking area.

Deputies responded to the business and came into contact with Brady first. Deputies asked Brady what she was doing there and she told deputies she was waiting on Pickney.

Deputies looked around and noticed that vehicles had been messed with on the back parking lot. Deputies then found Pickney hiding behind a tree. Deputies asked Pickney about being on the property and he told the deputies that he and Brady would come after hours and get stuff from vehicles.

Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing. A check of Pickney showed him to be on parole.
