At 1:46 pm the Lawrence County Dispatch received a call reporting a wreck at the intersection of Hwy 91 and Hwy 230. The caller told dispatch that the driver was attempting to leave and possibly intoxicated. Lawrence County Deputies responded to the scene and found the female driver in a highly intoxicated state. The driver had ran through the intersection and struck an embankment. As officers attempted to interview the female she demonstrated her inability to stand up or even sit up. Lawrence County Deputies requested AET Ambulance to come to the scene and check for injuries, the victim stated to medics that she did not want to go to the hospital. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.

Once Cook’s Wrecker Service removed the vehicle form the ditch, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Rocky Chappell searched the vehicle and discovered a pill bottle in the driver’s purse with what appeared to be meth. Sgt. Chappell field tested the substance, it tested positive for meth.

The driver identified as Keelie Branae Wuelling of Jonesboro was charged for DWI, Failure to Maintain Control, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Wuelling is currently in the Lawrence County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
