Robert E. “Bob†Ponder, 77, of Imboden, died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at his residence. He was born December 24, 1935 in Pocahontas to Cletus C. and Dena Gregory Ponder. On October 31, 1964 he married Virginia Baker in Walnut Ridge. He was an Army veteran, member of the Skaggs church of Christ in Pocahontas, and a machinist at McDonnell-Douglas for 38 years.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; sons, Gene Ponder (Terrie) of Imboden and Joe Ponder (Christi) of Troy, MO; grandchildren, Katelyn, Mary, Patrick, and Cody Ponder.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the Cox-Fears Chapel in Walnut Ridge. Funeral services are immediately following visitation under the direction of Cox-Fears Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge with Jon Fears officiating. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery in Imboden.
Pallbearers are Frankie Penn, Willard Hogue, Lowell Rose, Kenny Smith, Clay Crabtree, Brandon Murphy, and Clifford Rorex.
