Around 9:30 am on Saturday, AET Ambulance received a private call requesting an ambulance to respond to South 8th Street in Black Rock. AET notified the Lawrence County Dispatch of the accident, Black Rock Fire Department along with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office were also informed.

Once on scene, a medical helicopter from Hospital Wing was requested to respond to the Black Rock area. Deputies and firefighters set up a landing zone at the abandoned Cavanaugh parking lot, minutes before the helicopter was scheduled to land it began raining in the area, the flight was aborted around 10 am. AET transported the injured victim to St. Bernards Medical Center via ambulance.

The identity of the victim and extent of injuries has not been released.
