The Sloan-Hendrix Greyhounds traveled to Greers Ferry on Tuesday, September 17 and the runnin’ Hounds didn’t disappoint.

Logan McCain continued his strong running with an 8th place finish running 9:37 for the 1.5 miles. Matthew Helms just missed a medal finishing 11th at 9:44, Tyler Murphy 25th, Jordan Dail 48th, and Hunter Stallings 49th.

The Jr. Boys finished 5th as a team behind Heber Springs, Manila, Batesville, and Greenbriar. In Jr. Girls, Cortney Winston was the Hounds top runner finishing 49th with Maddyson Lamb 1 second behind in 50th.

Jr. Girls finished 10th overall.

In Sr. Boys, Ben Small ran almost 2 minutes faster than last week and finished 22nd in 20:44 with Nathan DeShazo finishing 53rd. Team wise the Sr. Boys finished 9th overall.

In Sr. Girls, Jessie Powell and Hannah Griffin both ran their best times of the short season to post a 15th and 56th place finish, respectively.

The Greyhounds look to run even better next week as they host the Sloan-Hendrix Invitational at Davidsonville State Park starting at 4:15 with Jr. Girls, Jr. Boys, Sr. Girls, and Sr. Boys with 18 schools represented and 400 athletes registered. Come out and support your Cross Country Team!
