Mrs. Lewis’ First graders really love their grandparents! Friday they got to spend a very special time with
their grandma’s and grandpa’s showing off their classroom. After the students gave their grandparents
their gifts for Grandparents Day, they were so excited to show them everything we have been doing
in first grade such as their Reflection Journals, Writing Journals, Math Journals and math books, their
reading books, and their weekly goals that they set for themselves. The grandparents were very
impressed! After that I gave all the grandparents a piece of paper to illustrate and discuss with their
grandchild how school was different when they were in elementary school. This sparked some great
discussions. At this point the classroom was full of laughter, everyone had such a great time! I want to
thank all the grandparents for coming, it meant a lot to the students!
