Danny Donuts to Entertain at Beatles at the Ridge

(Walnut Ridge,  Ark.) – Not all of the entertainment at this year’s Beatles at the Ridge music festival will be on a stage.  Danny Donuts is bringing his own brand of entertainment to the festivities, including parades of children through downtown.

“Danny Donuts is a hoot.  He is a huge Beatles fan, and he leads a procession of kids, not to mention a few adults, while wearing his own Yellow Submarine.  The children will also have masks of their favorite Beatles member that they color themselves.  It’s a great addition to the festival,” said Charles Snapp, chair of the festival committee.

Hailing from Chicago, the entertainer has become a favorite at Beatles festivals around the country.  His animated style and clever costuming are big attractions to his act, and his high level of energy is especially popular with children.

“I have seen Danny Donuts do his thing, and children are going to love it.  We encourage all the young folks who can to join the fun, and for everyone else to take the time and watch the spectacle,” said Snapp.

Danny Donuts will lead parades at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. through downtown Walnut Ridge on Saturday, Sept. 21.  Children who want to be a part can join in at the cooling tent near First National Bank.

Beatles at the Ridge will start Friday night, Sept. 20, and run all day Saturday in downtown Walnut Ridge.
