Tips Lead Lawrence County K-9 Officer To A Drug Arrest In Hoxie

Lawrence County K-9 Officers made two arrest on Wednesday after receiving multiple tips reporting a suspect purchasing drugs. Officers responded to a residence on Randolph Street in Hoxie and spoke to the residents, once ask about their involvement, the suspects identified as Michael Austin and Christina Vavak gave the officers consent to search their room.

LCSO Officers reported that as soon as they entered the room they discovered drug paraphernalia in plain site. Vavak then opened a drawer and handed over a used syringe to the officers, another syringe was found in the trash can. The suspect agreed to speak with the officers after being advised of her rights and admitted to purchasing drugs and using them.

Both Austin and Vavak were arrested for Felony Drug Paraphernalia and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
