At 4:12 am on July 4th, the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a propane truck leaking fuel at McLeods Grocery in Imboden. The Imboden Volunteer Fire Department was paged to the scene and responded with it’s Rescue 4 and several firefighters. Once on scene firefighters reported finding a vehicle hanging partially off the loading dock under suspicious circumstances, the driver was not found. Chief Chris Jones of the Imboden Volunteer Fire Department called for a county officer to investigate.

The truck belonged to Spring River Propane of Ravenden, the owner was notified by Ravenden Police of the incident. A Lawrence County Deputy was dispatched to the scene as well and arrived at 4:29 am. Initial reports indicated the truck may have been stolen, Chief Tim McComas of the Ravenden Police responded to the business to investigate whether the business had been broken into or the truck had been taken without permission. According to Chief McComas the business was not entered but the truck had been taken.

Witnesses stated as the truck was abandoned at the store, a second vehicle possibly involved was seen leaving the area. Officers requested that all the area hospitals be called after finding what appeared to be blood in the vehicle. The investigation is still ongoing at this hour.

The scene consist of members of the Imboden Fire Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas State Police and Ravenden Police Department.
