Lake Charles State Park would like to invite you to our Summer Yard Sale and Kid’s Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 8, 2013

Lake Charles State Park will be hosting its annual Kid’s Fishing Derby to celebrate

Arkansas’ Free Fishing Weekend on Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 9a.m.-11a.m.  Kids

ages 12 and under are invited to come out and fish.  Door prizes will be given out

and prizes will be awarded for the biggest, smallest, and most amount of fish caught.

Registration will start at 9a.m. that morning at the boat ramp inside the park.  The event

is free.  Bait will not be provided so make sure to bring your own or you can purchase

bait at the bait shop inside the Visitor Center.  Parents and siblings are encouraged to

come out but the only ones doing the fishing will be the kids!

The park will also be holding a yard sale at the Visitor Center from 7am until 3pm.  We

will have hundreds of items from our gift shop on sale.  Adult and children’s t-shirts,

jewelry, books, toys, mugs, fishing tackle, wind chimes, figurines, shelving units, and

much more.  Plus all of our Crappie fishing gear will be on sale.  Get here early for the

best deals!
