On April 1, 2013 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kellie Kemp (27) of Imboden for theft of property and forgery. The arrest stems from an Imboden resident reporting that their checkbook had been taken and several checks had been forged across Lawrence County.  The checkbook owner believed that a family member, Kemp may have taken the checkbook. Investigators went to local businesses and were able to tie Kemp to the stolen forged checks. Deputies tracked down Kemp and placed her under arrest. Kemp was transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing.
