According to the Arkansas State Parks, Act 39 of 2013 became effective on February 6th prohibiting Level 3 and 4 sex offenders from entering children’s playgrounds and swimming areas (beach, swimming pools and water parks) in any Arkansas State Park.

According to the Arkansas Crime Information Center’s (ACIC) website, Level 3 offenders have a history of repeat sexual offending and Level 4 offenders are sexually violent predators who have been adjudicated guilty of a sex offense or acquitted on the grounds of mental disease or defect that makes the person likely to engage in predatory sex offenses.

As of January 2013, ACIC’s State Sex Offender Registry reports 4,243 Level 3 and 305 Level 4 offenders in the State of Arkansas.
