According to Gov. Mike Beebe, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Chairman Rick Watkins resigned after a January 22nd arrest for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
 
The incident happened at a residence in rural Lonoke County where Watkins banged on a door asking questions and discharged a weapon into the ground. A loaded Glock 40 caliber weapon was found during the arrest along with several bottles of alcohol.
 
Watkins is a Little Rock native, business owner and active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America.
