While on patrol, Deputy Matt Cook with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office received a tip that Gregory Allen Moss, one of Sheriff Dotson’s Most Wanted was spotted at Latham’s. At Deputy Cook was checking the area where Moss was spotted in, he passed him driving a vehicle, as the deputy turned around the suspect turned off the road and abandoned his vehicle fleeing into a field and hiding.
Officer Cook then received calls from people stated that Moss was calling while in hiding, asking for rides to avoid capture. At this time, several Lawrence County Deputies, Black Rock Police and Arkansas State Police responded to the area to assist in the capture. A caller made contact with the officer saying he would lure the suspect out of hiding by offering him a ride. The caller traveled to the Running Water Ditch area where the suspect came out of hiding and got in the caller’s vehicle. Deputy Cook then made a traffic stop on the vehicle, placed the suspect under arrest and transported him to the Lawrence County Jail.
