The Pocahontas Fire Department Dive Team and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dive Team returned Saturday morning to Jackson County to resume the search for the missing 23 year old Justin Calvillo of Newark.

Teams met at the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office at 7 am on Saturday before traveling back to Jacksonport. Once back on scene, a coordinated search was executed. Boats were sent down river to search while sonar was once again used by the Pocahontas Fire Department Dive Team and Independence County Sheriff’s Dive Boat, searching the area where the swimmer was last seen. Divers were deployed onto boats to begin eliminating targets identified by the sonar.

Just before 9 am, one of the boats sent down river notified the incident command that the body had been found in about 3 to 4 feet of water around 3/4 to 1 mile from the last place the swimmer was seen. The body was recovered and turned over to the Jackson County Coroner.
