The Lawrence County Dive Team successfully completed Rapid Deployment/Search and Rescue Class taught by LGS of New York along with the Pocahontas Fire Department Dive Team, Stone County Dive Team, Sharp County Dive Team and members of the Hardy Fire Department.

More than 20 divers were assisted by support personnel were cross trained in search patterns, boat operations, diver rescues and more. Divers taking this training successfully recovered small items from the Black River placed there by the instructors.

More than 60 dive were conducted by the teams. The Lawrence County and Pocahontas Fire Department Dive Teams would like to extend a “Thank You” to several local businesses that donated or assisted with food and drinks to the training, Wal-Mart of Walnut Ridge, Subway of Pocahontas, Imboden Live and Hayes of Walnut Ridge.
