At 9:20 pm on Friday night, the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a victim falling from the back of a truck on Lawrence County Road 156.

 

Smithville Fire Department, AET Ambulance of Imboden, Arkansas State Police and Lawrence County Deputies were sent to the scene. Medics requested a unit from Air-Evac be flown to the area to transport the victim, who was described as unresponsive but breathing.

 

Smithville Firefighters set up a landing zone just a short distance from the scene, Air-Evac landed at 9:57 pm. Once officers were on scene, the driver of the vehicle in which the victim was thrown from was arrested by Lawrence County Deputies and transported to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office for possibly driving under the influence. The victim was flown to an area hospital.

 

The condition of the victim and identity have not been released at this time, the sccident is currently being investigated by the Arkansas State Police.
