The Wings of Honor Museum will host the 14th annual reunion for the Walnut Ridge Army Air Field Friday and Saturday. World War II veterans who worked or trained at the air field are asked to bring photos, scrapbooks, logbooks, certificates and special orders. The museum will be open on Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Events scheduled include: “The Birth of an Air Field, the Story of the Walnut Ridge Army Air Field” in the media room from 10:30-11:45 a.m.; lunch break from noon to 1:15 p.m.; WWII remembrances in the media room from 1:30-2:30 p.m.; a bus tour of the air field, WBC, Base Commander’s House, downtown Walnut Ridge and Beatles Park from 1:30-2:30 p.m. On Saturday, the museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Events scheduled include: “The Birth of an Air Field, the Story of the Walnut Ridge Army Air Field,” which will be presented in the media room from 10:30-11:45 a.m.; a birthday party in honor of the air field from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the media room, a silent auction in the library from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; WWII memories discussed in the media room from 1:30-2:30 p.m. For more information about the reunion or to make a donation contact Johnson at 1-800-584-5575, email harold@bscn.com or write to Wings of Honor Museum, 70 South Beacon Road, Walnut Ridge, AR, 72476.
