Shortly after midnight on Tuesday morning, the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a structure fire at 575 Lawrence 210 in Black Rock.

Lawrence County Deputies quickly arrived on scene and relayed information back to Black Rock firefighters, reporting live power lines down in the roadway. Black Rock responded with two engines to the scene, the building was totally involved and a vehicle was heavily damaged as well. Black Rock was able to protect the residence which was reported to be unoccupied.

Neighbors stated that a property owners next to the property had been burning off the field earlier in the evening, it is believed that the unattended fire eventually spread and caught the building and vehicle on fire. Black Rock Fire Chief Pat Roby stated that by his observation, this was more than likely what had started the fire. As the structure was being extinguished, a fire was still burning in some heavy brush just down Lawrence 210.

Craighead Electric was called to the scene to remove the electric line from the county road, no injuries were reported.
