For the 16th year, donations made by and collected by area churches, businesses and individual donations have created generous food and gift boxes for local families in need. The boxes include a ham, milk, butter, bread, baking staples, assorted canned goods, washing detergent, personal care products and over 90 gifts for children.

 

This program received many food donations and $2746.00 used to buy items that was donated by individuals and businesses.

 

Those involved were the Imboden/Ravenden Ministerial Alliance including the Imboden Assembly of God, Imboden First Baptist Church, Imboden United Methodist Church, Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and Walnut Grove Church in Dalton.

 

Other sponsors were the F.L.O.W.E.R.S. Club, Imboden 4-H Trailblazers, Imboden EHC, Sloan Hendrix Middle School Student Council, Sloan Hendrix High School Student Council, Sloan Hendrix FFA, Sloan Hendrix PTE, Sloan Hendrix School Staff, Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Tedder Equipment Company, Citizens Bank, Iberia Bank and individual donors from the community.

 

This year, 34 families from our area were given these generous donations collected by this school/community project.

 

Organizers for this event were Beth Gosha-Sloan Hendrix Parent Center Coordinator, Rebecca Jones-Community Volunteer, Martha Johnson-Sloan Hendrix Middle School Student Council Sponsor and Shara Phares-Sloan Hendrix School Counselor.

 

Other volunteers that helped with distribution on December 16th were Brother Bob McMillon of the Imboden and Smithville United Methodist Church, Imboden Fire Chief Chris Jones, Billy Oldham , Buddy Williams and Savanah Williams.
