At 12:30pm on Thursday, the Ravenden Volunteer Fire Department and AET Ambulance of Imboden were paged to an address on Lawrence County Road 107 where a 69 year old male had fallen down a flight of stairs.

AET Ambulance requested that the Lawrence County Dispatch Center request a helicopter to quickly get the victim to a hospital. Once on scene, medics with AET requested that Air-Evac land at the Landing Zone in Imboden, next to the Imboden Volunteer Fire Department. Imboden Firemen were dispatched to assist with the helicopter landing zone.

After evaluating the patient on scene, medics changed the request and ask for Air-Evac to land at the location of the accident which is referred to as a “scene flight”. Members of the Ravenden Volunteer Fire Department secured a landing zone and relayed the information back to the Lawrence County Dispatch Center along with the GPS coordinates.

The air unit landed and the patient was loaded by medics and firemen and flown to the Med in Memphis.
